David A. Diamond founded Secure Driving School in 1992 after working for four years as an instructor for Kingsboro Driving School, Inc. He started as a one-car operation in Sheepshead Bay not far from the present location at 1504 Sheepshead Bay Rd. At that time Dave was doing most of the in-car training himself.

With his patient, easy-going but thorough teaching style, he quickly built his reputation as one of the most sought after driving instructions in the area. Training and hiring instructor candidates to teach in his successful style, his school rapidly became one of the dominant players in his market.

Flush with success, Dave moved to Staten Island to start a family. Soon he would found a second school, AAA Driving School of Staten Island (now AAAA) in 1992. At the time, Scott's Driving School of Eltingville was the dominant driving school in Staten Island.

Dave acquired the Scott's location at 3827 Richmond Avenue in January 2000 after Frank Scott closed out his business and moved out of the area. Since then, AAAA Driving School of Staten Island been the #1 choice for driver training in the borough.
